This Prestigious College is Offering a Course On Lana Del Rey

Starting this October students at NYU will have the opportunity to take a course on the one and only Lana Del Rey. From October 20 to December 8, students will get the chance to participate in Topics in Recorded Music: Lana Del Rey."

According to Variety, the class will analyze the singer's career, her come up, her contributions to the music industry and her role in the feminist movement. Del Rey has been heavily involved in social justice movements over the years such as Black Lies Matter and #MeToo. So throughout the duration of the course, the students will get to learn about her role in those matters.

Here's an official course description:

Over the course of eight critically-acclaimed albums, the six-time Grammy nominated artist has introduced a sad core, melancholic, and baroque version of dream pop that in turn helped shift and reinvent the sound (and mood) of mainstream music beyond the 2010s. Through her arresting visuals and her thematic attention to mental health and tales of toxic, damaged love, Del Rey provided a new platform for artists of all genders to create "anti-pop" works of substance that could live in a mainstream once categorized as bubblegum.
