EEEEk. I don't like looking at this.

I don't have much rhythm, but I think I caught the beat there for a second 🤓🙃 #aloyoga #beagoddess #nauli

🔴🔴Nauli Kriya/Lateral Abdominal Wave/“Blender Pose”🔴🔴 🔷The first time my dad saw me do the always odd-looking “nauli kriya," amusingly he called it “blender pose." However, it’s a slow wave… far slower than a Vitamix at top speed. Food references are germane to this video, as I had just had a few bites of pimento cheese to appease a growling gut. However, if you haven’t tried this before, I’d recommend doing this on an empty stomach. 🔷The discerning eye might note I have slightly more trouble moving the wave from left to right than from right to left, which I attribute to often having a tighter left psoas major than right. 🔷This is, of course, a fancy party trick… BUT, more important aspects include (1) strengthening and ensuring smooth movement of core muscles and connective tissues, (2) coaxing the parasympathetic (rest and digest) fibers of the vagus nerve into deeper relaxation, (3) ensuring fluidity at the intersection of the respiratory diaphragm and the psoas major at T12 (12th thoracic vertebra), (4) buttressing the spine with supple AND strong torso tissues and (5) keeping the enteric nervous system (a.k.a, “the second brain”) and the gut in good working order. 🔷This practice, along with its foundational exercise “uddiyana bandha” (abdominal vacuum; Google “Frank Zane”), have helped me lift heavier weights, get more pop on my tennis serve and improve my sense of well-being. I’m grateful to @yogatuneup for having introduced me to this powerful practice. This took me several years of practice to get it to what it looks like now… and the refinement efforts continue. 🔷If you’d like to get on the path to this exercise or to a stronger center at any level, contact me via the link in my profile. Thanks very much. . . . #blenderpose #guthealth #vagusnerve #psoas #nauli #naulikriya #uddiyanabandha #core #abs #stomachvacuum #corestrength #fascia #anatomytrains #yogatuneup #yoga #tennis #crossfit #movementculture #movementtherapy #yogadudes #yogaeverydamnday #followyournola #yogainspiration #instagood
