Women's world number 1 was in action Wednesday night at the Cincinnati Open. Poland's Iga Swiatek, the top player in the world, took on Varvara Grecheva of France. Right away it looked like Swiatek was going to run away with it winning the 1st set quickly and going up 5-2 in the 2nd. Grecheva with her back against the wall finally got going pushing the the 2nd set to a tiebreaker, and pulling off the come back. Swiatek, however, would remind everybody why she is the world number 1 and made quick work of Gracheva taking the match 6-0, 6(8)-7, 6-2.
Swiatek will move on to play Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk in the round of 16.
