Tiktoker Matthew Wurnig, @50dates50states, is on a cross-country trip to date one woman in each state. It's kind of like the movie 50 First Dates, but also not.
Matt downloaded Tinder during lockdown. He had only had five dates prior to downloading Tinder. Initially starting with Zoom dates, the experience inspired him to quit his job and travel cross country, documenting his dating adventure for his 547,700 TikTok followers. He has now been on over 100 zoom and in person dates, and has hit his goal of being on 50 dates in 50 states.
His dates have included a hot air balloon ride in New Mexico, flying a plane in Minnesota, hunting for frogs in Arkansas, zip lining through the mountains of New Hampshire, and riding an airboat in Louisiana swamps. He even flew in to Alaska and Hawaii in his search for love. His hope is to create meaningful connections with every one he meets and leave his date with a smile whether he's 'the one' or not. He wants to make sure each date is unique and always picks up the check. His dates seem to have a wonderful time. She told Newsweek "It was a memorable experience that allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone, all while doing it with an incredible guy."
