Elle Fanning was duped! The actress told the story of how she thought she was meeting Bob Dylan, but it actually ended up being Timothée Chalamet, who plays the music icon in his upcoming biopic, A Complete Unknown, in which they both star in.

The actress, who plays Sylvie Russo in the film, told Rolling Stone in its Timothée Chalamet cover story that the actor channeled his character to the utmost degree, mostly "keeping to himself" on set — but he was also referred to on the movie's call sheet as "Bob Dylan" as opposed to his real name. So, Fanning, seeing the call sheet in pre-production, thought she was going to meet with Dylan, and the film's director James Mangold.

Fanning told Rolling Stone, "I was thinking about all these things to say and ask. I was picking out my outfit. 'I'm meeting Bob Dylan today!'"

Turns out, she picked out her outfit to actually meet Timothée has Bob. She added, "I'm probably the first person in life to be let down by having a rehearsal with Timothée Chalamet, right? Like, the first girl in history."

A Complete Unknown follows Bob Dylan's rise to fame from a 19-year-old Minnesota musician to having his songs top the charts, and the road he took to get there, culminating at 1965's Newport Folk Festival. In addition to Chalamet and Fanning, the film also features Edward Norton and Monica Barbaro.
