Chris Evans may be best known for his role as a superhero, but he wants to expand his acting range by taking his shot at being in a musical.
The Marvel star has several acting credits in action films, most notably as the iconic hero in Captain America, but he recently explained to People that he would like to try his hand in a totally different genre.
"I'm waiting to do an actual musical film. I want to sing," he said. "[And] dance. That is what I want."
Evans' Red One co-star Dwayne Johnson, who was also present for the interview, told the actor to "manifest that," adding that he's "got a feeling it's going to happen" as Evans is "crazy talented musically." Despite his musical abilities, the Snowpiercer actor understands that a musical role doesn't come around very often so it has to be done "right."
"I mean, that's tough though because that's something you got to do right. You only get so many bites at that apple," he said, adding, "But knowing that I'm very precious with it and I want to make sure it's the right thing. So yeah, that's always in the works."
Evans added that he is immediately interested and "listening" whenever he hears a project is going to be a musical, admitting, "That's the quickest way to get me in a room."
