Jennifer Lopez's inner circle have never been huge fans of her rumored ex, Ben Affleck.
According to Page Six, the "On The Floor'' hitmaker's most trusted pals went along with the relationship out of respect for Lopez, but were not extremely fond of Affleck from the off. An unidentified source got candid about the Argo standout, citing distaste from the pair's first failed engagement back in 2002.
Benny Medina, Lopez’s longtime manager, used to be one of the most "vocal critics" of Lopez and Affleck's relationship (specifically in the early 2000s) as the Good Will Hunting actor was never his favorite.
“The two of them can’t stand each other. They don’t get along and there’s still bad blood."
Nowadays, Medina choses to keep his "mouth shut" about the rumored breakup and relationship turmoil that "Bennifer 2.0" continue to face. The source revealed:
“His attitude was, 'I'm gonna say nothing.' [There] was no, 'Good for you,' but also, [he] wasn't negative. He knows her and he knew she was going to marry him no matter what, so what’s the point?"
Lopez and Affleck's rekindled romance also caused the Maid In Manhattan star to severe ties with longtime bestie Leah Remini, whom she befriended during her marriage to ex Marc Anthony, per Page Six. Remini was not invited to Lopez and Affleck's wedding, but the former friends recently reconnected as rumors of divorce proceed to spiral. The unnamed source attributed the rift to Affleck not being committed as a partner.
"Because he is selfish and not fully committed as a partner. J.Lo was so mad she cut off all ties. No one, except [Lopez’s] mother, likes Ben Affleck. He’s a triple-A a**hole."
Lopez herself has expressed anger towards the Gone Girl standout lately as he holds off on filing for divorce out of "respect" for her.
"She’s furious. He has humiliated her. He was the one who initiated getting back together. This was definitely not on her bingo card. She would’ve scratched someone’s eyes out if they told her [they’re] splitting up less than two years in."
Lopez and Affleck have yet to comment on the breakup buzz, or how they feel about each other amid moving to separate spaces and keeping their distance.
